On Easter Sunday 21st April – the parish pot-luck lunch crew together with volunteers from Couples for Christ Norwich served up a wonderful 3 course meal to 106 parishioners. Preparations began at 8am for the Easter Sunday feast, with volunteers working together to prepare an amazing spread.  On the menu was Pea soup and Nachos platters for starters, followed by Roast Lamb, Salmon, Roast Chicken, Salads, Roast Potatoes, Rice and Noodles, and finishing with  Sticky Toffee pudding, Bread pudding , fruit platters and a selection of other cakes.

A good time was had by all and over £400 was raised for the  CAFOD Cyclone Idai Appeal and the ANCOP (Answering the Cry of the Poor) disaster relief fund.  The funds raised will go directly towards providing much needed food and shelter to the peoples affected by Cyclone Idai in Mozambique and the recent earthquakes in the Philippines.   To find out more about CAFOD’s work  click on the link below:

The sun shone bright on Easter Sunday and we made the most of the beautiful day enjoying the good food and fellowship – lingering over desserts and coffee in the garden.

The children joined in the fun too with an Easter Egg Hunt in the Cathedral gardens.    It was a fitting end to Holy Week, to celebrate Jesus’ triumph over death with good food and fellowship, whilst being mindful of those who are in most need of our help.

The cathedral pot-luck crew runs a number of these parish lunches each year.  The next parish potluck will be next Sunday to celebrate Fr Andrew and Fr Leo’s birthdays on the Feast of Divine Mercy – 28th April.

There will also be another parish lunch for the feast of Pentecost – 9th June 2019 – hope to see you there!
