The Friends of the Cathedral exist to provide for and enhance this beautiful Cathedral Church. We work closely with the Bishop, the Cathedral Dean and the Cathedral Preservation and Development Trust. They identify projects they would like the Friends to finance which also fit into our particular remit. Our last completed project was the glazed doors at the West End of the Cathedral. Our current project is providing the curtains and supporting posts -technically dossals and riddles - to enclose the Chancel area. The initial costing for this is at least £50,000.

The 14 blue and gold riddle posts, each capped with an angel playing a different musical instrument, are now in place. We have recently placed the order for the red and gold hangings.

Most of our income comes from members' gift - aided subscriptions, donations and legacies.

We have two Cathedral based spiritual/social events during the year, the Chrism Mass and the AGM.
