Responding tothe refugee crisis
This Lent– act in solidarity with those who are forced to flee their homes. Pledge every step that you walk from now until Pentecost Sunday to the Share the Journey campaign and help CAFOD to reach their goal of walking around the world for the 5th time since March 2018 by contributing to another 24901 miles – the distance of the whole world
Our parish has pledged the Stations Walk on Good Friday towards this campaign. Its a gentle walk visiting 14 churches across the city centre whilst praying the Stations of the Cross. So walkers of all ages and abilities are welcome.
When – Good Friday 19th April 2019 – 12-2pm
Where – Please meet in the Rotunda at 11.50am for a short safety briefing, and to hand in your sponsorship forms
How – Hard copies of the route map will be handed out at the start of the walk. Alternatively – following the tenets of Laudato Si – go paperless and click on the link to download the Stations Prayer card and map below.
All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Alternatively you could join in the campaign by taking note of all the steps and miles that you walk each day. Here are some top tips on how to get involved:
-Clock the steps/miles you walk day
-Write them down and add them to the CAFOD website – share the journey
-Even the steps you take to the car or when shopping count
-Say a prayer for refugees as you walk
