From Monday 18 July, for about 2 weeks, there will be roadworks on Earlham Road outside the Cathedral.
These roadworks also involve the update and improvement of the pedestrian crossing at the Cathedral entrance.
You can still access the Cathedral from Earlham Road during this time (by foot and by car), but the road traffic will be controlled with an alternating one-way traffic light system.
This means that your journey time to and from the Cathedral will be affected, so please give enough time to get to and from the Cathedral. As is always the case – and we all know that there are lots of roadworks in the city at the moment – that road traffic will be affected further afield as well, so there may be congestion.
It also means that Bus Route 26 is altered for the duration of the works, so please check the re-route if you come to the Cathedral on Bus 26.
Finally, it also means that parking will not be possible on Earlham Road itself. On Sundays, many parishioners park on the north side Earlham Road (east-bound lane): this will not be possible during this time.
These roadworks are projected to finish by Friday 29 July, but that is dependent upon the success of works, so this could affect two weekends, rather than just one.
