The response to the ‘Knit for peace’ appeal continues to be heart warming. Carol, the local organiser, hugely grateful for continued donations and contributions. One week there were over 100 beautifully knitted squares, completed blankets, baby clothes, hats and scarves and knitting wool.
The Knit and Natter Group is in full swing and we are hoping to sort out the remaining squares into blankets, ready for crocheting or being sewn together.
If there is anyone else who might be able to crochet please contact Carol on 01603 506014.
Last Sunday at the Octagon Unitarian Chapel another large parcel was assembled. This means that over 1 stone in weight of blankets will have been sent. We have also sent 4 smaller parcels of knitted squares to Turkey where volunteers sew them together for refugees in their camps.
