The Friends of the Cathedral bring together members from across the Diocese of East Anglia, who raise funds to provide for and enhance our beautiful Cathedral Church. We work closely with the Bishop, the Cathedral Dean and the Cathedral Preservation and Development Trust. These identify projects they would like the Friends to fund. The latest project involved the restoration of the altar and the over-hanging crucifix for the Chapel of the Precious Blood. We aim to arrange at least one social event at the Cathedral each year, and are looking to increase this, in addition to the Annual General Meeting. Most of our income comes from members’ gift-aided subscriptions, donations and legacies.
