We are a friendly group who meet on a weekly basis every Tuesday to knit, crotchet, stitch and natter, plus any other hand crafts people like to do!

The group has been in existence for several years working on various exciting projects and seasonal events. We’ve blossomed from a Church orientated sewing group to ‘Knit for Peace’ then broadened our horizons and recently joined the Norfolk Knitters and Stitchers organisation which has over 125 groups across the county with about 3000 members who are all knitting and stitching away and many have their own specialities.

All our efforts are given to charities and distributed to needy people both locally and abroad mainly through Norfolk Knitters and Stitchers who have contact with many organisations including Age UK Norfolk, British Red Cross and Big C. Their present focus is helping to support the refugees being resettled in Norwich.

Members have a go at all sorts of projects including blankets, toys and scarves which are always needed. We also make Remembrance Day poppies, dementia twiddlemuffs, premature baby-wear Christmas decorations, Easter chicks, hot water bottle covers to name a few.

Our group meets every Tuesday afternoon, 2pm-4pm, in the Narthex. We all love being together, having a chat and continuing with our various projects. We help each other learn new skills too! Tea, coffee and biscuits are enjoyed mid session and members come and go according to their other commitments. Some people prefer to work at home and simply deliver their  items to the Church shop.

We always welcome new members but please note this is an over 18s group. If you are interested in joining us please contact Barbara Scrutton for more details.
